Dear International student, welcome!
SNerikes is a meeting place for students from many different departments at Uppsala University, as well as for students from different parts of the world. The goal of Uppsala and SNerikes Nation is to make your stay here a truly memorable experience; the student life in Uppsala has much to offer and Nations play a big part in it.
Life here is much more than exams, books and long nights in the library. When you enter the nation house, leave all your stress from studying at the door. Here you can enjoy a good lunch, coffee, beer or dinner – or help cooking and serving them! You can play soccer or theatre, sing or play an instrument, hit the dance floor or experience the glamorous side of the nation by getting dressed up and enjoying a unique gasque.
All the nations’ activities are created by students – for students, so don’t hesitate to be a part of it! We have put together a short introduction to what SNerikes nation has to offer.

How to join SNerikes nation:
Starting from 9th of January you can join our nation in the little grey house next to our pink castle (follow the signs saying ”Inskrivning”), where we will help you to sign in and answer all your questions.
Bring the membership fee of 260 kronor, and another petty 45 kronor if you want to join the student union, your letter of admittance and your p-number.
The opening hours are Tuesday-Friday 11am-1pm and Tuesday & Thursday 5-6pm Once again, welcome to Uppsala and SNerikes Nation!

RECCE RECEPTION Friday, 3rd of February
Get to know the nation, other recce’s and your nation tutors! Sign up for the Recce Reception when you join the nation, a great night whichwill prepare you for everything that Uppsala has to offer! After meeting upat the nation you will be separated to a smaller group led by your tutor for awelcome drink or two. After this we’ll march to the University House for anation presentation where you’ll get all the information needed to understandhow our nation works. After this, a traditional swedish dinner will be served inthe nation house including beer and schnapps of course. After the dinner it’stime to hit the dance floor!
RECCE GASQUE Friday, 10th of February
Learn how to gasque! A gasque is formal dinner party, but don’t be fooled and think that meansboring. The gasques are Uppsalas student life in a nutshell, and the recce gasqueis the perfect introduction to your life as an Uppsala student.The dress code will be formal, suits for guys and cocktail dresses for girls, sosuit up and get ready for an amazing three course dinner with drinks, songs andschnapps!
PUBCRAWL TBA
Get to know all the nation pubs! Goal for the night: survive all 13 nations. A great way to get to know where all of the nations and their pubs are.Have one of the more rare beers at Uplandsor enjoy a whiskey at GH, all nations have their specialties.Learn where to buy what to make the most of your Uppsala experience. When 13/13 is done it’s time to crawlback to Snerikes, dancing the night away in the club!
SONGBOOK PARTY Saturday, 10th of March
A party all about the songs, the schnapps and the punch! A delightful dinner where you will be entertained by several old song masterswho will teach you all the nation’s traditional songs. Learn when you’resupposed to bang the table, stand on the chairs or when to make a hat out of yournapkin!
LANDSKAP II Monday, 2nd of April
Nation elections and year meeting All members of the nation are welcome to the landskap, where all theimportant decisions are made and the “ämbetsmän” get elected. After themeeting a dinner will be served and the newly elected “ämbetsmän” willcelebrate, usually showing their appreciation by getting the schnapps on thetables!
WINTER SURPRISE T.B.A.
A secret surprise to be announced during the winter Get together with the “recceförmän”, international secretaries and the tutors forthis secret event. You’ll get more information as the winter gets closer.

Beware of fraudsters!
Due to the difficult accommodation situation in Uppsala, dishonest individuals have begun taking advantage of new students by offering them rooms, posing as the nations. Do not ever pay for a room in advance if they claim to be from a nation! At Snerikes, we have an accommodation office and contracts that has to be signed, both for first hand and second hand contracts. Always check with us if you have been offered a room in our name at bostad@snerikes.se
