At Snerikes, there is almost always something going on. People dance, sing, cook, prepare banquets and newspapers, and above all, they relax and socialize. All in their own large, comfortable living room that is the nations house.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved at Södermanlands-Nerikes Nation!
In addition to working at the club or in the bistro, there are also student associations, choirs, working groups, and other fun ways to participate in the nation’s activities. There are many opportunities, and we highly recommend trying out what it’s like to be active here at the nation.
the Nationshuset building will undergo foundation reinforcement during parts of the fall semester of 2025 and the spring semester of 2026.
The closure of the nation house does not mean that any part of the nation’s activities will be discontinued during the project. The nation is very pleased to continue offering Uppsala students a club on Tuesdays in collaboration with the Göteborgs nation. Other activities will continue in a similar format as before, but instead at Brundisium, the gray building located at the intersection of S:t Larsgatan and S:t Olofsgatan—halfway between the nation house and Smålands nation. The nation’s library in the Stavenowska building, with study spaces and lending services, will also remain open as usual.
Without a nation house, we also have no banquet hall. The nation’s traditional gasques and balls will therefore be held in the same way as before – but in other premises in Uppsala.
The big question is, of course, how long will the project take? The Nationshuset will be closed from the beginning of October and throughout the rest of the year, as well as for part of the spring semester. The aim is to reopen by Valborg 2026, but the exact date will be announced at a later stage once the project is underway. The hope is that neither the fall semester of 2025 nor the spring semester of 2026 will be completely affected by the foundation reinforcement.
