Recentiorsgasque
This is the banquet organised especially for all new students! The Freshers’ Banquet begins with a welcome ceremony at University Hall, together with the other student nations, before we make our way to our very own pink castle.
At the Freshers’ Banquet, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how a typical Snerikes formal dinner works. Learn to sing Uschiameja and dance to Gula paviljongen, just as generations of Snerikings have done before you!
Sångboksfesten
“Sing of the student’s happy days…” The Songbook Party is the perfect opportunity to learn how to sing about fat French women, shout “Usch!” at Uschiameja, and battle through Stridsvind.
The Songbook Party is the least formal of our banquets — if it can even be called a proper gasque! So grab yourself a songbook and come sing with us. The Songbook Party is held twice a year.

A Guide to Dress Codes
Shoes must be black and well-polished. If you prefer to wear a dress, it should be full-length. A full-length skirt with a separate top is also acceptable. The dress can be made from various materials; the important thing is that it looks festive and elegant.
Gloves are worn only with sleeveless dresses. They must be removed during dinner, as it is never appropriate to eat while wearing gloves. Jewellery should not be worn over gloves.
An elegant handbag should be carried with formal attire and either hung over the back of your chair or placed on your lap.
If you prefer to wear a dress, it should be long or mid-length and made from an elegant material. A dress suitable for black tie is often described as a cocktail dress or evening gown.
If you prefer a dress, the “little black dress” is perfect. Otherwise, a formal dress or a smart two-piece outfit is recommended. A skirt paired with a more festive top is also acceptable.
The rules are less strict at this level, allowing more room for fashionable and contemporary dresses. Knee-high boots are not worn with lounge suit attire.
